Welcome to the newest webcam for Ely located at the new North American Bear Center which just opened in the Spring of 2007. |
|
This webcam is at River Point Resort and Outfitters looking south on the Kawishiwi River. Look closely and you can see, usually at different times, wolves, deer and humans traversing the Kawishiwi over the ice in the winter and boats and canoes in the summer. |
|
ElyMinnesota.com's newest webcam is sponsored by Packsack Canoe Trips and Cabins on Fall Lake. Gene and Jane Ott of Packsack Canoe Trips and Cabins have located this cam so you might be able to see native birds at their deck bird feeder or deer feeding in the yard between the deck and the lake. You will also be able to see canoeists departing for a Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness trip or enjoying the lakeside fire pit late in the evening. You can find contact information for Packsack Canoe Trips and Cabins in the www.elyminnesota.com business directory. Please let Gene and Jane know how much you enjoy this new webcam. |

This camera offers a view of Shagawa Lake looking north from the Grand Ely Lodge.

This cam overlooks Farm Lake and the Boundary Waters. You are looking at the BWCA entry point #31, the Kawishiwi River. Farm Lake is part of a chain of four lakes including Farm, South Farm, Garden and White Iron Lakes. Your NE view includes the beach area of Timber Trail Lodge and Outfitters, islands, and the far shore is the BWCA. Winter views will include dog sledding, ice skating, snowmobilling, cross-country skiing and general resort activities.

This cam is looking up Sheridan Street in downtown Ely. It is on the Basket Tree, a new bakery, coffee shop and gift shop on West Sheridan Street. Looking up Sheridan in the winter is much different than in the summer. Watch the hustle and bustle of Ely's main street, and watch it change through the seasons. Check back often since you will be able to see what the weather is like up here in the Northwoods. |

Point of departure. Here's where canoeists dip their paddles as they enter the Boundary Waters, a seemingly endless chain of lakes on the U.S.-Canadian border. |
