International Migratory Bird Day occurs each year on the second Saturday of May. The 2008 theme is Tundra to Tropics: Connecting Birds, Habitat and People. There will be information presented to the local schools this spring and a morning field trip on Saturday, May 10 to the
Darwin Myers Wildlife Management Area in Embarrass, MN. Anyone who would like to attend should meet in the Finnish Heritage Tour Center parking lot at the intersection of Hwy 135 and Hwy 21 approximately 10 miles north of Aurora or 10 miles south of Tower, in the community of Embarrass. This will be a morning outing and you should arrive between 7:00 and 9:00 to join a group going to walk the dikes surrounding wetlands created to grow wild rice. Any questions?
