125+ Booths of Arts, Crafts and Ethnic Foods The Ely Harvest Moon Festival is in some respects a mini version of the Ely Chamber of Commerce Blueberry Festival with a Northwoods Fall Flavor. There will be 125 plus Art & Craft Exhibitors, Demonstrations, Food, Musical Entertainment and the All-American Lumberjack Show. Like the Blueberry Festival the Harvest Moon Festival is FREE and is located in Whiteside Park (between 7th & 8th Avenues on Sheridan Street) Times: Friday, September 5: Noon - 6 pm Saturday, September 6: 10 am - 5 pm Sunday, September 7: 10 am - 4 pm The All-American Lumberjack Show is a crowd pleaser every year and we will try to catch some of that activity of the webcam, just not sure how that will work yet. There are two teams, ten lumberjack events and everyone comes out a winner. The Kid's Lumberjack Sport Camp is free to youngsters young and old who are taught how to log roll and how to crosscut saw (that is by hand saw, no power saws here) by the pros. Friday, September 5: 1:00 pm Saturday, September 6: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm Sunday, September 7: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm As always for the Harvest Moon Festival there will be the Primitive Encampment with demonstrations of Birch bark basketry, wool spinning, spinning angora rabbit hair, blacksmithing, trapping, leatherworking, bead working, dream catchers, spirit gourds, carving, knife making, tomahawk throwing, and fire starting. |
